Heidi Ward is the Director of Pitt's Neighborhood Commitment in Greater Hazelwood. In this role, she directly engages with organizations and community partnerships to identify Life Sciences integration leads throughout and with the Greater Hazelwood community. She works collaboratively with coalition leads to identify long-term transformative opportunities in PreK-12 education, workforce development, and other inclusive community development. As a resident of Hazelwood, Heidi is driven to make a positive impact within the community she has the honor to call home. She believes the Hazelwood community will change the world by amplifying its strengths, uniqueness, and untapped potential.
Prior to joining the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs, Heidi was the Director of Community and Summer Education at Point Park University. Within this role, Heidi developed and implemented participant-centered programming dedicated to authentic growth for high school students and lifelong learners.
Heidi spent her early career living and working in Los Angeles, California as a Television Content Producer for both National and Public Television Companies such as; NBC, FOX, NETFLIX, E!, and LIFETIME. Furthermore, she is humbled to have won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lifestyle Programming as a Segment Producer on NBC’s, Naturally, Danny Seo.
Heidi is a two-time alumna of Point Park University and has earned her Bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Digital Arts and her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Management.
