Jacob Zabela is a community liaison and organizer, as well as a multimedia artist and writer when he gets a moment. He is focused on driving cumulative material development and serving the needs of working-class residents in the greater Pittsburgh area community.
In his role as the Outreach Coordinator for Pitt’s Greater Hazelwood Neighborhood Commitment, Jacob assists in the development of partnerships with community stakeholders and planning for the future Community Engagement Center, serving as a contact for neighborhood residents and prospective fellows.
Prior to joining the University of Pittsburgh, Jacob worked in public benefits outreach, engaging area residents to facilitate accessibility to state benefit programs. He has also dabbled in electoral politics, organizing voter contact and registration drives while empowering youth to participation in their communities.
