Nena Ansari joined the University of Pittsburgh’s Community and Governmental Relations Department in 2019 as the Assistant Director of Operations for the Community Engagement Centers. In her role as Assistant Director of Operations, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the Community Engagement Centers, including maintenance, tracking of budgets and expenditures and working with vendors.
Prior to her current position, she served as a Research Review Analyst for the University's Human Research Protection Office. She brings to this position over 17 years of experience in the social service field. Nena has previously worked as a Projects Coordinator, Job Developer, Housing Counselor and Training Coordinator for several agencies.
Nena holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh. She was the recipient of the National Urban League’s 2014 Whitney M. Young Jr. Center for Urban Leadership Development Conference Service-Learning Innovation Award, Co-Winner of the 2014 and 2016 Pittsburgh’s Urban Innovation 21 Small Business Grant Competition, Co-Winner of New Sun Rising’s 2018 Ignite Culture Pitch Competition and Co-Winner of the 2020 Citizens Bank Small Business Community Champion Award.
